Pearl

SOLD! (9/03/2011) Pearl was purchased by someone who said that they really didn't care for cats but liked the painting so much!

Almost Saintly

The very beginnings of the drawing, touching here and there with the Prismacolor. I tend to be very impatient and work all over the drawing, back and forth, here and there. Many colored pencil artists work one area completely before moving on. It's whatever is most comfortable for you.

Almost Saintly

At this point the Prismacolor looks a little like crayon, which we don't want. It has a very unfinished look, very scratchy looking

Almost Saintly

bringing the areas up in many, many layers

Bug Buddies drawing

This is the initial drawing for Bug Buddies, an illustration for a story at Stories for Children. I'll be working in colored pencil, slowing building the image

midway through drawing

This is nearly finalized, needing to strengthen contrasts & cover the right side

Teddy

This is Teddy, my daughter's funny, cute, wonderful little dog. He's a character!

Brahmas

This was a reject from the CPSA on line exhibition. It's mixed media: Prismacolor with acrylic paint. I'm thinking I'll re-do this one, maybe in oils. I love the velvety look of Brahman bulls.
